Boyertown Optimist Lacrosse Teams (B.O.L.T.) was adopted as a new boys' youth sport in the fall of 2003; followed by the adoption of the girls' program in the fall of 2004. Boy's youth lacrosse has been in this area since 1996 thanks to the efforts from P.L.A.Y. ( Pottstown area Lacrosse Association for Youth). Currently the players are grouped by grade. For kindergarten boys there is a play-based instructional only program that meets once a week. There is a program for players in first and second grade that is organized around "play days" where teams get together and play a round robin format without score being kept. Older players are divided as follows: Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6, and grades 7-8. For older players, regular games are played. B.O.L.T. is a member of SEPYLA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association). The season runs approximately from March 1st to June 15th with games generally being played on weekends. Currently our home fields are at the Douglass ( Montgomery ) Township Park , thanks to the cooperation of the Boyertown Soccer Club.
Mission: To give the youth of the area an opportunity to actively participate and learn in an organized sport as exciting as lacrosse.
