The Optimist Club of Boyertown
Our positive approach, our upbeat outlook, and our commitment to creating a more optimistic future for kids is what differentiates Optimist Clubs from any other volunteer opportunity. The Optimist Club of Boyertown is a youth service-based organization serving the Boyertown community for over 50 years. Chartered by Optimist International (www.optimist.org) in 1954, the Boyertown Optimists’ main purpose is to provide an outlet for the youth of the community to participate in organized athletic and community-development programs.
Serving over 1,750 youth per year, the Boyertown Optimists are dedicated to providing youth athletic programs in:
- Basketball (Boys)
- Basketball (Girls)
- Cheerleading
- Football
- Lacrosse (Boys)
- Lacrosse (Girls)
- Softball
The Boyertown Optimists also support other opportunities for youth including the following annual activities:
- Tri-Star Basketball Program
- Piggy Bowl Princess Essay Contest
Membership
Optimist Club Members receive as much as they give:
- The fellowship of people who get things done – and the example they set for embracing a similar optimistic mindset;
- New social and working relationships with individuals from a cross section of the Boyertown community;
- The opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally;

Meetings
The Boyertown Optimists meet weekly on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the Greshville Inn on Route 562 just outside of the Borough of Boyertown. Board meetings are usually held the second Monday of the month.
